New highlights

1. Beartooth – Free

Caleb Shomo's back, even more ripped than ever, and with a new, Jordan Fish-produced tune to kick off their next chapter. It reflects, he says, "The emotional roller coaster that is living. In one day, you can equally experience pure fear and pure joy.” He also says it tees up the as-yet-unannounced new Beartooth album, which he promises will be "the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make”.

2. Frozen Soul feat. Gerard Way – No Place Of Warmth

Good news: after unleashing the feral, sub-minute blast that was Absolute Zero recently, Texas death metal chug machine Frozen Soul have announced that their new album No Place Of Warmth will be landing on May 8. Better news: the title-track here features demonic vocals from Gerard Way. So, if you're wondering what a Bolt Thrower/MCR mash-up would be like, here you go. The answer is: killer.

3. Scene Queen – Manicure

'Give me the cat claws.' Scene Queen's certainly got her sharpest set on for this snarling bit of nu-metal.
