Linkin Park – Up From The Bottom
Helloooooo there, even more new Linkin Park music. This little banger, released in the run-up to the special edition of last year's brilliant From Zero return, one of three new songs on there, is particularly feisty. In what'll already be a crowded setlist at Wembley Stadium this summer, hopefully this manages to elbow its way in there.
Split Chain – bored. tired. torn.
Bristol nu-gaze lot Split Chain sound none of those things here. This post-hardcore-y curtain-raiser for their forthcoming montionblur debut album is dreamy, but bursting with life, awash with chorus pedals and big chords, perfectly distilling why there's such a buzz around them.
House Of Protection – Fire
'Fuck what they think!' Okay, lads, but we think your new one's a ripper. It's as lairy as The Prodigy in a particularly boastful mood, and that breakdown is heavy as hell. Good work, House Of Protection. Again.
