Hot Milk – The American Machine
Punky, bratty and thoroughly northern, this frustrated look at good old America is pure Hot Milk. Which means you won't be able to help dancing to it. Only a week to go until their new album, Corporation P.O.P, drops. So get ready for even more party-starting aggro from Han Mee and Jim Shaw. It's album of the year territory, like.
I Prevail – Into Hell
A massive, massive arena-y one from the ever-reliable I Prevail, here. Which is a right-turn from their other recent newie, Violent Nature. “This song is about loving someone through their lows and struggles," says singer Eric Vanlerberghe. "Being there to take their burdens. Loving them through everything because that’s what they do for you.” Which is very nice, and deserves a chorus this big.
Motion City Soundtrack – She Is Afraid
They're baaaaack! A full decade on from their last full-length, 2015's Panic Stations, Minneapolis nerd-punk heroes Motion City Soundtrack have announced that their seventh album, The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World, will be dropping in September. Judging by this first peep, Justin Pierre still thinks the best way to process life and the world is via dorky pop-punk. Which is fine by us.
