Exactly 21 years on from its original release date, My Chemical
Romance will unveil their Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition).
The New Jersey emo kings are set to drop a completely remixed
and remastered edition of their iconic second record on June 6, with four 2005
live tracks from BBC Radio 1’s The Lock Up added on to the original tracklist
(including I’m Not Okay, which was surprise-released earlier today).
GRAMMY-winning producer Rich Costey is the man behind these fresh
mixes, while the Deluxe Edition also includes brand-new artwork, and will be
available on CD, digital, and of course several different lovely-looking vinyl variants.
Speaking to Kerrang! at the time, singer Gerard Way explained of Three Cheers…: “This record is revenge for us, on all the people that said we would never succeed. We thought we could get even for all the shit that’s happened to us in our lives. Revenge that could mean we could break out. Most of all, revenge on all the people who never believed in us. It led to this extreme confidence, where I felt like nothing could touch us. Nothing anyone said could hurt me when I was in this band.”
