“Music wasn’t a big part of my life until I was about 13,” he says. “Before that, I never really had a real sense of identity. It wasn’t until my parents first got cable at home and I went on Kerrang! TV [and saw] Linkin Park and Evanescence and all these rock bands, and thinking, ‘What the hell is this?’
“I’ve got ADHD so I always felt like a caged animal growing up, and then I was seeing all these artists and people onstage or in music videos, and they were losing their minds, just going crazy, screaming, rolling around on the floor,” he continues. “I remember the first time I saw Glassjaw, I was like, ‘Man, that is what I wanna do.’”
