The name of Green Day’s coming-of-age comedy movie has changed
Formerly New Years Rev, the name of Green Day’s coming-of-age comedy has changed to Nimrods, and it’s been acquired by Inaugural Entertainment.
See Green Day pay homage to 1978 film Corvette Summer with a very fun new music video for the Saviors song of the same name…
After teasing it last week, Green Day have just released a brilliantly fun new music video for Corvette Summer.
The rock’n’roll Saviors tune takes its name from the 1978 adventure comedy film starring Mark Hamill, so clearly the punk legends thought there was only one option when it came to their own video: to bring in Luke Skywalker himself for a big appearance, not to mention comedian Hannibal Buress.
“Rev up those engines, the Corvette Summer music video is here and it’s one wild ride!!” they announce. “The song was named after one of our favourite cult classic movies, so it only made sense to pay homage to it with the music video. We even took things one step further and got Mark Hamill – who starred in the original – to star in our remake alongside us, Hannibal Buress, and some others.
“We blew the entire budget on them,” they add, “so we had to get creative with cardboard boxes, some duct tape and matchbox cars we found in Tre’s basement. Directed by the dynamic duo Ryan Baxley & Brendan Walter. Buckle up, and enjoy the ride!”
