Green Day have announced a star-studded music video for Corvette Summer.
The band’s Saviors track will get a huge new video next week – on Tuesday, July 23 – and it’s set to feature the lead actor from the movie of the same name: none other than Mark Hamill! The film Corvette Summer was originally released in 1978, the year after Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, and saw Mark playing car lover Kenny Dantley.
And cars will seemingly be the subject matter of Green Day’s accompanying video, too, as they have teased that: “You’re going to have the most turbo-charged, chrome-plated, plush-lined, high-gloss, super-speed customized time of your life.”
They’ve also announced that the band themselves – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – will feature in the video, along with comedian Hannibal Buress, and “a whole lot more”.
Watch the teaser below, which features an updated version of Corvette Summer’s vintage movie poster.
