NPR have released their latest Tiny Desk Concert video, inviting the mighty Turnstile into the office for a very special show.
The hardcore titans brought along a horn section consisting of Tobias Moody on sax, Theljon Allen on the trumpet and Troy Long playing piano to rework five bangers from this year’s incredible NEVER ENOUGH album.
The band – vocalist Brendan Yates, guitarists Pat McCrory and Meg Mills, bassist Franz Lyons and drummer Daniel Fang – unleashed DREAMING, SUNSHOWER, I CARE, the title-track and BIRDS across their five-song set, with things really kicking off during the closing BIRDS, which NPR reveal includes the first-ever Tiny Desk Concert stage-dive.
Midway through the performance, Brendan stopped to reflect that, “This being somewhat of a hometown show for us, there’s a lot of very important people in the room: a lot of personal heroes, a lot of people that we grew up with, people that are family, people that are friends, people the we found music with, people that we made music with. All that to say, thank you for always being there, and I love you.”
