Rise Against announce 15-date UK and European headline tour
With support from the mighty L.S. Dunes, Chicago punk heroes Rise Against will be crossing the pond early next year.
Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath assures fans that "when the lights go back on" the band will be back with new music.
It's no secret that Rise Against have been working on the follow-up to 2017’s 5K-rated Wolves album for quite some time now, with Tim McIlrath telling Kerrang! back in May last year that they had been writing new material. Now, though, the frontman has given another short update on where things are at, and confirmed that the Chicago punks now have new music ready to go.
As part of an interview (and typically wonderful acoustic performance) for U.S. promoter Danny Wimmer Presents' streaming series #OffstagewithDWP, Tim reassures listeners in these strange and uncertain times: “I just want to let our fans know that we're not going anywhere. When the lights go back on you're gonna see us, and we're gonna be playing shows, and getting together with you guys.

“We have new music, we have it all – this isn't the end, this is just a new beginning.”
Though it's not a lot to go on right now, it's nevertheless promising news given that – long before the coronavirus pandemic – Tim had stressed to Kerrang! that he and his bandmates would be taking their time when it came to album number nine.
“We’re getting together and playing ideas, but I wouldn’t hold your breath,” he said. “The one thing that we have decided is that we don’t want to feel rushed, we’ll put out the record when it’s done, not to try and meet some deadline.”
