IT FINALLY HAPPENED! Following several pandemic delays, My Chemical Romance began their long-awaited reunion tour in the UK on May 16.
The whole run has kickstarted with a two-night stint at Cornwall's spectacular Eden Project, which has a capacity of just 6,500 so is fairly intimate by Gerard Way and co.’s standards. And they brought a hell of a 20-song setlist for the occasion, opening with new single The Foundations Of Decay before going straight into the massive Helena.
As well as performing pretty much all the classics (really, the only single missing was I Don't Love You, which was on the setlist but wasn't played), the band gave Surrender The Night and Boy Division from their fan-favourite compilation album Conventional Weapons their live debut. Elsewhere, there were throwbacks (Our Lady Of Sorrows), awesome album cuts (This Is How I Disappear, You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, Sleep) and so much more…
