New York quartet Taking Meds have announced a brand-new album, Dial M For Meds.
The Kurt Ballou-produced record is due out on September 1 via Smartpunk, and according to vocalist/guitarist Skylar Sarkis much of this new material is “about chasing these things that you can’t ever really attain, trying to fill a hole that can’t be filled.
“I think at one point nostalgia really fuelled a lot of my addiction – trying to get back to a feeling that you can’t get back to.”
Meanwhile Skylar reveals of the newly-released single Outside: “There is human connection that exists beyond ‘what’s cool’. But we expend a lot of effort trying to arrive there. It’s a component of subculture that seems much more outsized than it is – as if it’s going to satisfy some actual human need.”
