All signs are pointing to the return of Ozzfest in 2027.
The legendary festival – which was founded by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne – could be making a long-awaited comeback next year, with their official social media channels posting a graphic with the words ‘Ozzfest could return – 2027?’ and the caption ‘Will Ozzfest return in 2027??’
The posts follow a recent Sharon interview, in which she told Billboard that she’d been having conversations within the music industry about its revival.
“I’ve been talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back recently,” she revealed last month. “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people. We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
When asked what a potential Ozzfest 2027 could sound like, Sharon teased simply: “I’d like to mix up the genres.”
In January 2024, she admitted on The Osbournes Podcast that she was indeed open to bringing Ozzfest back – however she explained the financial challenges that she would potentially face in doing so: “Why is it when it comes to us that everybody thinks that we are trillionaires, and so that every manager who wants their band on our festival wants one of the fucking trillions they think we’ve got to put on the festival?”
