Frank Iero And The… Bloody Awesome Covers.
For BBC Radio 1's awesome Rocktober month, Frank Iero And The Patience stopped by Maida Vale to perform two of their own hits from last year's Parachutes, as well as beautiful covers of R.E.M. and The Beatles.
Frank was also interviewed during the session, and he explained how the covers came about, as well as last year's terrible van crash – and how that's affected his life since.
"It's crazy… I can't believe it's been a year, y'know?" Frank said. "It's funny, injuries like that… the recovery is non-linear, so it gets kinda frustrating – you have really good days and you have really bad days and stuff like that. When something like that happens to you, it changes your entire landscape in your head; you think about things differently and you kinda assess what's really important. I think initially it was very much this feeling of fighting it and being like, 'It's not going to be taken from me, I need to get back out there and go' – almost like a defiant kinda stance. And now that that's happened it's like, 'Alright, great, we did it – now I really need to take some time for myself and get my head straight and my body in better shape from all the injuries.' Now I think it's time to settle down a little bit."
