Glam-rockers Indya have delayed the release of their Enigma cover, but still plan to perform at Weyfest this summer
Indya has been forced to postpone the release of her upcoming single, Sadness, until September.
The track – originally released as Sadeness in 1990 by German electro outfit Enigma – was reworked into a rap-rock rendition by Indya vocalist Laudez Rose and producer Dave Needham. Ed Sheeran’s cousin Jethro also appears on the record.
The song was scheduled for release in the spring, but has now been delayed until after the summer, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Indya was also scheduled to perform on the The Silver Hayes stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival, which was unfortunately cancelled last month. However, Indya has already confirmed that they will be back on Worthy Farm next year.
“The coronavirus has seen Indya’s gigs and shows cancelled up until August, sadly missing out on big festivals and a Netherlands tour,” comments manager Gary West. “Hopefully the lockdown will have softened by the summer for her appearance at Weyfest in supporting UB40.”
During the lockdown, Indya’s Laudez Rose has been writing new material, with plans to donate a portion of the resulting album’s proceeds to The Rock & Pop Foundation in Surrey; a school for young, aspiring musicians who Laudez "wants to help through this difficult time and current situation."
