Green Day share 21st Century Breakdown-esque snippet of new music

With a week to go until we find out what Green Day are up to, the band have unveiled an absolutely awesome-sounding snippet of new music.

At the beginning of the month, the punk rock legends released an initial teaser, which pointed to something happening on October 24 (a couple of days after they play When We Were Young Festival in Vegas).

And now all signs are pointing to a new single, which is seemingly called The American Dream Is Killing Me, and if this snippet is anything to go by, it sounds like a cross between their albums American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown and Revolution Radio (both musically and lyrically, with Billie Joe Armstrong singing the words: ‘The American dream is killing me / The American dream is killing me / When it’s all double talk of insanity’).

It also looks like there’s a zombie-themed music video on the way, too, just in time for Halloween…
