Green Day celebrate the return of live music with uplifting Pollyanna music video

Green Day's sweet, joyous May 2021 single Pollyanna now has an equally lovely accompanying video, courtesy of the Hella Mega Tour.

The Oakland trio – who are currently on the road with Fall Out Boy, Weezer and The Interrupters on the long-awaited stadium run – have captured all sorts of behind-the-scenes and onstage footage, perfectly soundtracking Pollyanna's lyrics like 'It’s wonderful to be alive' and 'Everything is gonna be alright'. Based on the smiles on everyone's faces here, it's hard not to believe them.

"It's the best feeling being out on the road with the Hella Mega Tour!!" Green Day share in a statement about the Greg Schneider-filmed video. "So great, in fact, that we made a vid for Pollyanna featuring some of the best times we've had so far."

While it's hard to know if Pollyanna is a sign of things to come with further material, bassist Mike Dirnt did tease in June that he was looking forward to, "New music… and unknown adventures." Ooooh!
