Dua Lipa has taken to social media after her surprise performance with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.

The pop megastar brought out the frontman at San Francisco’s Chase Center on October 12 for a special duet of Wake Me Up When September Ends. “I can’t believe my life sometimes,” Dua enthused on Instagram afterwards, along with photos and videos of the show. “Sharing the stage with @billiejoearmstrong and singing When September Ends felt like stepping straight into a dream I never thought would come true.

“I kept flashing back to little me running around the house with my Walkman tucked into the back of my jeans, the American Idiot @greenday album blasting in my ears, feeling like the world was so much bigger than I could imagine. Still trying to find the words but I loved everything about last night. Beyond surreal. Thank you!!! 2 more shows left of this leg. Seattle you’re NEXT!!!!”

Sharing one of the videos to his own Instagram Stories, Billie Joe added, “Thank you Dua Lipa for the invite! You’re the best!”

And for now, this might be one of the last times we see the punk icon onstage for a while. With Green Day’s Saviors Tour now all wrapped up, Billie Joe told Kerrang! over the summer that, “I think we’ll be done by the end of this year. It’s a good time, and we’re not gonna try to do anything like a victory lap or be overbearing, or cash in, in any way. It’s like, ‘This has been a really great time for us, and so let’s leave it at a great time and then go home.’ And get back to being bored!”

In terms of potential new music, he admitted, “We’ve been messing around with stuff here and there, but there’s nothing that’s gonna shove us back into the studio right away. Everyone likes to go back into their family lives and things like that. And I think if you don’t go away, people won’t miss you (laughs). It’s about taking our time making the next record, making sure everybody’s hungry to do it.”
