Watch Deftones’ Chino Moreno join Smashing Pumpkins onstage
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno hopped up for a run through of Pumpkins’ classic Jellybelly.
Three out of the four original members of the band have been hanging out together!
Like many bands, as they get a little bit older they tend to lay to rest the complications and disagreements of the past to focus on finding peace with each other. Just look at how happy Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan look on stage together at the Guns N' Roses reunion. The Smashing Pumpkins are no exception to this rule, with many predicting or calling for a classic lineup reunion for the past few years.
While Billy Corgan has been playing shows with a current incarnation of the band, he's added more fuel to a classic lineup reunion by posting a photo of himself in the studio with guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain. However, there was still no sign of bassist D'Arcy Wretzky, but maybe she was the one taking the photo?
On Instagram, Billy said the following: "Not sure what cross-eyed spy took this photo, but we had a visitor to the studio the other day. So many memories when you put the three of us together."
Check out the post below:
While this could just be some old pals just hanging out, it's certainly got people talking. Guitarist James Iha is busy with A Perfect Circle at the moment, so if this reunion does happen, it might not be until he's freed up some time from that. But we can cross our fingers and hope it's them planning some shows together again.
Anyways, it's got us pining for the '90s era Pumpkins. Have a listen to their classic Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness below:
