“I wouldn’t be in a band without him”: See MCR cover Bullet With Butterfly Wings with Billy Corgan

My Chemical Romance’s current North American stadium tour continues to deliver: at Saturday night’s Chicago date, the emo legends brought out one of their heroes, Billy Corgan.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman joined MCR for the final song of their epic setlist at Soldier Field on August 30 for a cover of Bullet With Butterfly Wings. Billy himself posted afterwards that it was, “Great fun! And fantastic gig by the boys. Just killed it in front of a massive Chicago crowd.”

My Chem bassist Mikey Way also enthused: “Wow! I’m still recovering from my dream of sharing the stage with my hero coming true last night. We had the honour of playing with the legend himself – @billycorgan. Anyone who knows us, knows the story, and how much we owe to this man and his music. I know I wouldn’t be in a band without him! Thank you Billy for such an unforgettable night and thank you Chicago for a show I will never forget.”
