A star-studded new benefit album for Jesse Malin has been announced.

Silver Patron Saints: The Songs Of Jesse Malin will feature everyone from Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello, The Hold Steady, Tom Morello, Dinosaur Jr., Susanna Hoffs, Frank Turner, Rancid and even more, who have all come together to cover the New York singer-songwriter’s music and raise money for his Sweet Relief artist fund.

This initiative was set up last year after Jesse suffered ‘a rare spinal stroke that left him paralysed from the waist down’ in May 2023.

“As always in my songs, the themes are all there – transcendence, positivity and global unity through music,” Jesse says today of what he’s been through – and how he hopes to continue. “This is what I love to do, and I’m going to do everything I can to keep doing it.”

Silver Patron Saints: The Songs Of Jesse Malin is released on September 20 (pre-order your copy here, with proceeds going to the Jesse Malin Fund). In the meantime, you can hear Bleachers cover Prisoners Of Paradise below:
