Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith has lost his home due to the California wildfires.

The news was announced on Instagram by his wife Natalie Dufresne-Smith, who shared several photos of the sky in Malibu with the caption, “We are safe. We have each other. We will start again. Thank you for your support during these trying times.”

A few days before, Natalie had posted videos of nearby smoke, and the family evacuating their home. Unfortunately, Natalie and Adrian are among the many communities affected by these ongoing blazes, which began on January 7 and have destroyed thousands of structures and killed 24 people.

Longtime Primus guitarist Larry ‘Ler’ LaLonde has also lost his home, posting on social media: “Well, we were bouncing around different ideas to remodel our home, but ultimately the Palisades fire decided on a more “open” floor plan. My mind is still trying to convince me this whole thing is real.

“As the losses in this fire trickle into my brain, it feels like being hit with a bag of rocks over and over, but the people around us make me feel like the luckiest mother fucker on the planet to have these people in my life. I don’t know how we could mentally survive this without the support of some amazing friends. Unfortunately this is a situation almost everyone in this town is in. Many unknowns here for now…”
