Fans of rock and Strictly Come Dancing got a treat on Saturday night, when Jody Cundy and partner Jowita Przystał performed a paso doble to the strains of AC/DC's Thunderstruck.
The multi-medal winning Paralympic champ – highly decorated in both swimming and cycling, who had his right foot amputated aged three – danced to the classic Akka Dakka banger on the BBC show.
Good as it was, the judges awarded the pair a mere 16 points, putting them behind Channel 4 journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy and newsreader-slash-national treasure Angela Rippon, and firmly eating the dust of current scoreboard leader, Bad Education actor Layton Williams.
Crucially, though, he did better than comedian Les Dennis, who was the first to exit the show. And, were this Strictly Going Really Fast On A Bike, the table would look very different, with Jody's most recent victory being at the UCI World Championships in Glasgow in August, where he beat his own record in the men's C4 1 kilometer time trial for the 14th time in a row, coming in at a staggering 1:01.466. That's 58 kph, or 36 mph.
