Last night (June 2) in Berlin, Germany, progressive-metal titans Tool made their return to the arenas of Europe, having not visited the continent since 2007 following the release of 10,000 Days.
But now, with that long-awaited fifth album apparently on the horizon, Maynard James Keenan and his genre-bending comrades have made their way across the Atlantic for a summer of arena shows and festivals – starting yesterday at the 17,000 capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.
Picking tracks from each of their previous records, Tool also gave the first European airing of as-yet-unreleased tracks Descending and Invincible, after debuting them at Welcome To Rockville in Florida last month.
