Foo Fighters cancel appearance at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival
Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have joined this weekend’s Soundside event in place of Foo Fighters, who have cancelled last-minute.
Foo Fighters drummer extraordinaire Taylor Hawkins says Dave Grohl is "already mapping out" a new album.
Next year should hopefully be a big one for Foo Fighters. As well as 2020 marking the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut, the rock titans might also be finding time to work on a brand-new album, according to drummer Taylor Hawkins.
In this week's issue of Kerrang!, we put Taylor through the life-and-career-spanning K! Interview, in which the sticksman discusses everything from his early tours with Alanis Morissette to his forthcoming full-length with The Coattail Riders, Get The Money.
We also ask the drummer about plans for 2020 – including if there's anything in the works regarding the follow-up to Concrete And Gold.
“Well, it’s very possible," Taylor says. "There’s a lot of talk, and I think Dave is already mapping out what he wants the next record to be, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something coming down the pipe. I can’t 100 per cent spell it out for you for sure, because I’m always the last to know and I don’t want to give it away. But I would imagine there will be something made of the 25th year of the Foo Fighters, for sure. You know us, we never stop.”

Discussing his new Coattail Riders LP and how he found the time to write and record it between Foos tours, Taylor explains: “I came up with a lot of my ideas for my songs while I was on my bike, and the album was just pieced together. I’m always in my studio recording. I would do demos every time I came home from tour. We’d have two weeks off and I’d spend a couple of days kissing my wife’s ass, doing everything she’d asked me to, then I’d go into the studio for a couple of days and record.”
Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders' new album Get The Money is due out on November 8 via Shanabelle/Columbia Records.
