Spinal Tap II gets release date and new teaser trailer

At long last, the premiere date for Spinal Tap II has been confirmed!

The follow-up to the beloved 1984 mockumentary – whose full title is Spinal Tap II: The End Continues – will get a theatrical release on September 12. It’ll see Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer reprising their roles as David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls, and will also feature cameos from Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks and more.

Director Rob Reiner is also back in action as Martin ‘Marty’ DiBergi, telling Deadline that he’s, “So happy to be working with the folks at Bleecker Street who are passionate about keeping Tap’s legacy alive and happy to give Marty DiBergi another shot at relevancy.”
