Rage Against The Machine's Albums Are Back In The Charts

Not only have Rage Against The Machine been back in news headlines lately – from trending on Twitter due to some listeners only just realising that they're a political band (sure), to Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker covering Killing In The Name for Black Lives Matter – three out of four of the band's studio albums are also now back in the charts.

Appropriately, Rage's iconic 1992 self-titled debut has leapt back into both the Billboard 200 (at #174) and iTunes’ Top Albums chart (hitting #8 at the time of writing). Also sneaking their way into the iTunes chart are 1996's Evil Empire and 1999's The Battle Of Los Angeles, which are at #35 and #41 respectively.

Of course, frontman Zack de la Rocha has also already technically been in the charts this month, too, guesting on Run The Jewels' excellent new album RTJ4. While Zack features alongside Pharrell Williams on the track JU$T, the record as a whole peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. Run The Jewels – aka Killer Mike and El-P – released the album early and for a donate-what-you-want price, writing, “The world is infested with bullshit so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all. We hope it brings you some joy. Stay safe and hopeful out there.”

Anyway, guitarist Tom Morello was clearly happy to see Rage's rightful return to the charts, writing on Twitter: "Every Molotov needs a soundtrack."
