The big review: Damnation Festival 2024
What happened when Nails, Gatecreeper, Cradle Of Filth and a ton more brought the noise to Manchester for the biggest Damnation Festival yet.
Check out Silence Isn’t Golden before it drops on September 1.
Figure It Out might be a new name in pop-punk, but there’s no doubt the Phoenix four-piece have nailed down a catchy sound that’ll immediately click with fans of acts like Sum 41, New Found Glory, and State Champs.
The band’s new EP, Silence Isn’t Golden, is released on September 1, following the release of the single Second Best. Kerrang! has the premiere of the whole EP for you right here – so get into it, with the warning that these are earworms, and no mistake.

Says vocalist and guitarist Mike Weakley of the EP, the band’s third to date:
“The first EP we wrote was a play on the nostalgia of what we loved about pop-punk music. We had grown to understand what was current in the scene when writing the second EP. We felt like we had to aim the third towards some simplicity for the listener. I love that it is very relatable and can connect a little bit more with the audience than before.”
Figure It Out attracted attention in the past with a couple of well-received covers, of Chainsmokers’ Closer and Jason Derulo’s Want To Want Me. Watch the video for the latter, below.
The band supports Silence Isn’t Golden – which can be pre-ordered here – with a handful of live dates, as follows:
