Papa Roach announce U.S. tour with Rise Against and Underoath
Papa Roach, Rise Against and special guests Underoath are hitting the U.S. next year, with Tim McIlrath promising that, “This will be the best damn tour of 2025!”
Papa Roach are planning to release a new Infest documentary this year to celebrate the album's 20th anniversary.
Not only have Papa Roach been working on new music, the California nu-metal titans are also set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough second record Infest this year with the release of a documentary all about the album, and the band's career thus far.
"We come here to celebrate 20 years of Papa Roach, 20 years both on the scene," bassist and key ’Roach songwriter Tobin Esperance tells Goetia Media in a new interview. "We have some surprises, it is the 20th anniversary of Infest and we want to release a documentary with scenes recorded throughout all these years.
"At the same time we have been preparing new songs in the studio, we have been experimenting, and we will see if that comes out soon," he continues. "A documentary, re-recordings of old songs, a new album and more tours… that's what awaits us in the most immediate future."
The comments echo those of frontman Jacoby Shaddix, who recently revealed, “We have some awesome stuff to release here throughout the year, so we’re going to celebrate this album, for sure — one hundred per cent, definitely.
“And then also we have some announcements around some live shows that we’re gonna do to celebrate the album as well. So I can’t let the cat out of the bag completely, but yeah, we’ve gotta celebrate it. That’s a cult classic and a best-seller right there.”
Infest was originally released on April 25, 2000, and last year Jacoby stated that on April 25, 2020, he “will be having a celebration” for it.

Discussing the different sounds within the band's music, Jacoby reflected in an interview with Kerrang!, “After we released Infest, lots of people were saying, ‘These guys are just one-trick ponies and are going to die doing rap-rock,’ but I knew there were other sides to us. I wanted to prove myself as a valid rock singer, and at the same time I was getting interested in bands like My Chemical Romance, who melded rock and punk together, which inspired me.”
When asked about how early on in their career they wanted to future-proof the band by not focusing on one thing, Jacoby explained: “From the beginning. Even in our small town, Vacaville, there were no other bands who sounded like us or were doing what we did. We were buddies with all the emo and punk bands that were around us, but we were different. We had a dream, like they did, but we didn’t want to be one thing. We wanted to take flavours from everywhere and keep mixing them up. Infest showed those different sides to us.”
