In upcoming Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, the Baywatch star ‘reclaims her story’ following this year’s Pam & Tommy series.
Netflix have unveiled details of an official new Pamela Anderson documentary entitled Pamela, A Love Story.
Following the massive Hulu and Disney+ series Pam & Tommy – starring Lily James as Pamela and Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, playing out the story of their real-life ‘sex tape scandal’ – this new Ryan White-directed film will see the Baywatch star ‘reclaim’ her story (as per The Hollywood Reporter, it will ‘cover Anderson’s response’ to the TV series).
Having reportedly not given her approval for Pam & Tommy, Vanity Fair reveal that Pamela found out about the series while she was filming this new documentary. And while she refrained from commenting on Pam & Tommy at the time, the 55-year-old reflects today that, “Nobody knew the truth – even I don’t know 100 per cent of what happened, but I think what is most important is to share my human feelings and how much it hurt and how it undeniably defined me moving forward – in my career and my relationships.”
Speaking with Tudum, the star says of making Pamela, A Love Story and its positive impact on her personally: “I was very hesitant, but looking back, I feel empowered. And I hope that [my story] inspires people to have a great fucking time and not worry so much.”
“Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary,” explains the official Netflix synopsis. “In her own words, through personal video and diaries, Pamela Anderson shares the story of her rise to fame, rocky romances and infamous sex tape scandal.”
Pamela, A Love Story will hit Netflix on January 31, 2023.
