While the news was only made public in January of this year, Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that he's actually been battling Parkinson's disease since 2003.

In a new interview with Los Angeles Times, the heavy metal legend says that it's been many, many years that he was first diagnosed with the condition. The Prince Of Darkness is battling Stage 2 of the disease, which is considered a "moderate" form and involves stiffness, tremors, and trembling.

“I’m not dying from Parkinson’s," Ozzy asserts. "I’ve been working with it most of my life. I’ve cheated death so many times. If tomorrow you read, ‘Ozzy Osbourne never woke up this morning,’ you wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, my God!’ You’d go, ‘Well, it finally caught up with him.’”

Ozzy first discussed his battles in an interview with Good Morning America last month.

“I’ve got numbness down this arm from the surgery,” he said. “My legs keep going cold, I don’t know if that’s Parkinson’s or what… It’s a weird feeling.”

Wife and manager Sharon added: “There’s so many different types of Parkinson’s. It’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”

In an interview with Kerrang! recently, Ozzy discussed his health and wellbeing, and if he ever thinks about death.

“Do I ever think about when my time’s gonna come?” he pondered. “I think about it; I don’t worry about it. I won’t be here in another 15 years or whatever, not that much longer, but I don’t dwell on it. It’s gonna happen to us all.

“Am I happy now? No. I haven’t got my health,” he continued. “That thing knocked the shit out of me, man, but I’m still here. In fact, I worried about [death] more when I was younger than I do now. I just try to enjoy things as much as possible, even though that’s so fucking hard sometimes.”
