The latest Marvel Zombies trailer has dropped, and it features BABYMETAL and Poppy’s exhilarating 2025 collab from me to u.
Ahead of the arrival of the new four-part ‘event’ on Disney+ on September 24, Marvel fans are getting a nice gory look at what’s to come from this anticipated animated series. A synopsis reads that, ‘After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.’
As for the music behind it, this one-minute, 44-second glimpse features the METAL FORTH banger, and it fits perfectly. At the time of release back in April, BABYMETAL said, “A kawaii metal song was born from a collaboration between BABYMETAL and Poppy! Check out Poppy’s shouts and BABYMETAL’s dance in the Neo Tokyo setting! Kawaii is sprinkled throughout the intense sound! Kimi ni todoke!”
We recently caught up with the single’s producer, Jordan Fish, who said of how it came about: “They approached us about doing a song, and we actually made the demo for them, effectively. We really wrote the music, and to be honest, me and Poppy wrote the song, and then we sent it to them, and they loved it, and then they came back with some notes. It was really just a back and forth. Poppy was excited to do it, because she was very BABYMETAL influenced – especially at the beginning. It was a full-circle moment for her. She was really into them when she first started, she told me, so it really worked in that sense.”
