Mr. Lordi has been announced as one of the performers for this April’s one-night-only Forged In Sound: Heavy Metal Orchestrated show.

Taking place at London’s Southbank Centre on April 22 as part of the Multitudes festival, the vocalist will team up with Suzi Quatro and Alison Mosshart, plus the 100-strong Philharmonia Orchestra, for what a press release describes as an ‘orchestral heavy metal spectacular’.

“I think classical music and harder rock music – metal if you will – have actually a lot in common,” Mr. Lordi says. “The fusion between the two might seem, at first, to be a collision of extreme opposites, but they’re both genres that can unleash the amount of power that any other genres really aren’t capable of.”

Unsurprisingly, Lordi’s Eurovision-winning classic Hard Rock Hallelujah will be performed on the night, as well as covers of Metallica’s Orion and Enter Sandman, Guns N’ Roses’ Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, Suzi Quatro’s Can The Can and more.

Tickets are on sale now.
