We’ve got just a few more days to wait until Ghost release their
five-song covers EP PHANTOMINE, but the band have just unveiled one of the record’s
most highly-anticipated tracks: Phantom Of The Opera.
Not of the Andrew Lloyd Webber variety
– Ghost’s new cover is of Iron Maiden’s 1980 effort, taken from their
self-titled album. And it’s no secret
that mainman Tobias Forge is massively influenced by Maiden, telling Planet
Rock that his love for them transcends just the music – he loves their
live production, and “also when it comes to work ethics and just the
sheer volume of work you have to put into your job [and] in your craft has
always been inspiring to me.”
