Updated story: Reading & Leeds have officially confirmed that The 1975 will be their new headliners.

Original story: The 1975 appear to have confirmed that they will be headlining next month’s Reading & Leeds.

The UK mega-fests will seemingly be calling in the Manchester quartet for the second year in a row: after replacing Rage Against The Machine in 2022, this time they’ll be replacing Lewis Capaldi, who recently cancelled all his touring to “spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order”.

While onstage at TRNSMT last night (July 9), frontman Matty Healy shared that “in support” of their “good friend Lewis Capaldi”, The 1975 will not only be headlining Reading & Leeds again, but this time they will be playing their self-titled debut album in full for its 10th anniversary.

“On Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds, in celebration of 10 years of our debut album, The 1975 will be playing that album in full in support of our good friend Lewis Capaldi,” Matty announced. “So if you’ve got tickets, good for you. If you haven’t, go and get them. We’ll see you there.”

At the time of writing Reading & Leeds haven’t confirmed anything, but watch Matty’s announcement below:
