PVRIS and The 1975 members announce epic charity bike ride for Nordoff & Robbins
Raising money for the UK music therapy charity, PVRIS’ Brian MacDonald and The 1975’s Ross MacDonald will cycle from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.
Reading & Leeds have recruited alt. stars The 1975 to replace Rage Against The Machine as headliners.
Following Rage Against The Machine’s cancellation yesterday, Reading & Leeds have swooped in quick to find a new headliner for the August festival… and that new headliner is alt. stars The 1975.
The quartet will top the bill – alongside fellow co-headliner Halsey – at Leeds on Friday night (August 26) and Reading on the Sunday (August 28).
See 1975 frontman Matty Healy’s new Instagram video about the situation:
Yesterday, Rage announced that they were scrapping their entire UK and European tour, with vocalist Zack de la Rocha needing to “return home for rest and rehabilitation”.
Read the full statement below:
“Per medical guidance, Zack de la Rocha has been advised that the August and September 2022 UK and European leg of the Rage Against the machine tour cannot proceed. It is with great disappointment that we announce this cancellation.
“Rage Against the Machine will be finishing their run at Madison Square Garden on August 11, 12 and 14 and then Zack must return home for rest and rehabilitation. The flights, travel time, and rigorous schedule in the UK and Europe are simply too much of a risk for a complete recovery.
“We are so sorry to all of our fans who have waited years to see us and hope to Rage again soon.
“Please contact your point of purchase for refunds to any headline shows.”
