Green Day side-project The Coverups announce 2025 London show
Surprise! Billie Joe Armstrong will be back in London next month for another special show with his side-project The Coverups.
Green Day are teasing a Dookie-in-full gig in Madrid next week.
Following the announcement of their one-off, intimate show in Madrid next week, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been teasing that the band will be performing Dookie in full at the gig.
After some earlier speculation on Reddit that a Dookie performance would be on the cards, it looks like Billie Joe has now pretty much confirmed the rumours, posting a zoomed-in grab of the album artwork on his Instagram stories, with a Spanish flag emoji over the top.
He also posted a winking emoji on fan account @greendayitalianrageandlove when they asked followers, "Would you like to hear the entire Dookie live?" Cheeky…
The punk rock titans will be in town to play at the 2,500-capacity La Riviera, before they then take on MTV World Stage Seville on November 2. If either show is too late notice for you, part of the Seville performance will be aired the following day during the 2019 MTV EMAs, so you can still get your Green Day fix from the comfort of your own home.

Of course, Dookie turned 25 back in February this year, with the three members of Green Day all honouring their game-changing third record online.
“Remember that time 25 yrs ago we put out a record and called it Dookie!" Mike posted at the time. "Well, believe it or not, Insomniac was almost named Donkie just to fuck with people!!!”
Billie Joe also reflected on its 1994 release, while pondering how they might celebrate such a momentous milestone a quarter of a decade later.
“We wanted to think of something special to do but we couldn’t quite come up with anything… Maybe play the record in its entirety at the pyramids in Egypt,” he said. “Or jam it Machu Picchu? Exclusive in Viggiano? Never quite came to fruition… But never despair. 2019 still has time…"
Well, it looks like the time is now. Get excited, people.
