Read this: IDLES’ Joe Talbot on Britain owning up to its chequered past
While the clip itself clearly doesn't give anything away, there are already a couple of theories about what IDLES have planned. Late last year, the band performed a new song, Grounds, live on their triumphant UK headline tour – with some wondering if this teaser could be pointing towards the track's official release. Others believe it could be the start of the campaign for their highly-anticipated new album – the follow-up to 2018’s stunning Joy As An Act Of Resistance.
Though there's very little information out there about album number three so far, it was revealed back in December that the record was in the process of being mixed, with producers Nick Launay, Adam ‘Atom’ Greenspan and Kenny Beats working on it.
“IDLES are the best band in the whole world,” enthused Kenny. “That’s what I said to them. I think this is a good lesson for anybody else who is pigeonholed or pushed into doing what they do best and only that. I heard IDLES and was like, ‘This is all I want to work on; this is all I want to do. These guys are the best.’ I got into their DMs and told them that and luckily we got to meet, and the proof is in the pudding. I care so much and I think they can tell. It has nothing to do with anybody knowing we’re working together, or money, or anything. I love what they’re doing I want to be a part so now everyone knows I’m a part of it.”
