Last night (May 30) progressive metal masters Tool returned to the UK for a sensational, immersive show at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. Having last visited these shores in 2022 as part of their Fear Inoculum tour, the boundary-breaking veterans continued to lean into newer material with five of the 11 tracks played taken from their 5K-rated stunner.

Complete with intermission and various interludes, Maynard James Keenan and co. also picked choice cuts from across their catalogue, including Rosetta Stoned, Stinkfist, Flood and The Grudge.

Speaking to Kerrang! earlier this month about bringing Flood back into the set for the first time since 2011, bassist Justin Chancellor said, “We all want to keep things evolving. Specifically, Maynard has a record of every show we’ve done. So, he’s got the setlist from the last time we were in London and, say, the last time we were in Budapest. He looks at it assuming that some of the same people are going to come, so we want to change it up. We have the skeleton of our set, based on Fear Inoculum, but then we’re going to keep changing between older songs. Bringing Flood back is amazing. It’s just really fun to play.”

If you're heading to Tool's run of UK dates, here's what's in store. Although, knowing Tool, don't be surprised if they throw in a curveball or two...
