Hear Filth Is Eternal’s new cover of Violet by Hole
Listen to Filth Is Eternal share their take on Hole’s “f*cking brilliant and inspiring” Live Through This classic Violet.
Miley performed the song from Hole’s Live Through This album on the Howard Stern Show…
Hot on the heels of her rock album Plastic Hearts, Miley Cyrus has done a cover of Hole’s Doll Parts during her appearance on The Howard Stern Show. And, we have to say, it’s grand.
This isn’t a first for Miley. She’s already done covers of Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails, and has spoken about how she wants to follow up her cover of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters by doing a whole album of their songs. Which, going on the already presented evidence, isn’t as mad an idea as it sounds at first suggestion.
“I actually used making this record as a threat to my team at one point,” she told The Zach Sang Show. “Like, after the last record, I was like, ‘Listen, I’m gonna try pop one more time. If I feel like I just can’t sleep at night with it, I’m gonna make a rock record.’ And they were like, ‘Well, then why are you waiting, you never wait, just do it,’ and so I was like, ‘You’re right. I don’t know, I don’t know why I’m, like, threatening you with a record that feels like the right next step to me.’”
In Hole news, Courtney Love recently said that she’d got together with bassist Melissa auf der Maur and drummer Patty Schemel for a jam, but that any possible reunion was still in very early days mode. Meanwhile, she’s been busy in London, working on new music of her own as well as a book.
