After uploading a bunch of surprise solo songs in July, quickly deleting them, and then releasing her third solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party the following month, Hayley Williams has just unveiled a new track.

Now a bonus song on Ego Death’s extensive tracklist, it goes by the name Good Ol’ Days, and it actually references Paramore’s After Laughter era in the lyrics (‘Who knew the hard times / Were the good ol’ days?’ the singer asks in the chorus). Overnight Hayley also went on a big After Laughter spamming session on Instagram, sharing a huge amount of photos and videos from around 2017 when they released that record.

Earlier this month, Hayley explained in an interview why it was time to release another solo album instead of following up Paramore’s This Is Why: “…It wasn’t time to make another Paramore record, but I had a lot of shit to say, so I’ve done what I’ve done for myself and made this record. I’m finally willing to, like, let that happen. And it’s okay that it’s me by myself and not Paramore right now. Paramore will always have its time because it’s just what we do. We cycle back in and out of it. We resent it one minute. We wanna, like, wear matching clothes in the next minute.”

In our 5/5 review of Ego Death…, Kerrang! said: “Marking her first release outside of Atlantic Records, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party is the most vast summation of Hayley’s story so far. A musical purge of trauma patterns, depression, love, loss, and of course, ego, the wit and honesty of Hayley’s lyricism is the shining star of this work. It’s an unboundless exploration of a life lived under the scrutiny of misogyny and in the public eye from one of our time’s most creative and fearless artists.”
