Green Day side-project The Coverups announce 2025 London show
Surprise! Billie Joe Armstrong will be back in London next month for another special show with his side-project The Coverups.
When asked what he's looking forward to, Green Day's Mike Dirnt reveals, "New music… and unknown adventures." Ooooh…
Following the release of February's Here Comes The Shock and May's Pollyanna, it sounds as though Green Day are very much thinking about even more new material.
In an interview with the band's own Oakland Coffee company and their new Morning Roasts series, bassist Mike Dirnt is asked what he has coming up, as well as what he's most looking forward to. His intriguing response? "New music… and unknown adventures." Nice! Mike also reveals where he gets his inspiration from, detailing: "Individual expression, anything from music, and architecture, to cooking or gardening. I'm inspired by people with a unique take on life and the things they do."

In the same series, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is asked about "new habits or hobbies" he's picked up over the past year, to which he responds that he's "trying to learn how to play the tapping solo to Mean Streets by Van Halen".
Billie Joe also says of how he gets inspired: "Inspiration comes in all forms for me. It could be hearing a new song, it could be going surfing, it could be hanging out with my dogs. I could just be hanging out with my friends and playing music together. Inspiration is sort of overrated. I’d prefer to work. When you work with music and art, you usually come up with something you love. And that’s what inspires you to keep doing what you love."
