Foo Fighters have got a huge year of touring coming up, but first they will be kicking things off with a virtual reality gig – for the first time ever.
The rock legends are set to follow the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals' huge Super Bowl extravaganza this Sunday with an 180-degree Meta performance of hits and surprise tracks, with frontman Dave Grohl enthusing that, "Foo Fighters love a challenge – from playing the biggest stages in the world to the tiniest clubs to making movies and miniseries… We’ve pretty much done it all.
"But we’ve never collaborated with Mark Romanek on a conceptual set of songs – including one being played live for the first time ever – for a worldwide audience."
"When the game is over, the party begins in Quest," reads a statement. "The Foo Fighters are playing an epic post-game concert in VR. Charge up your headset to be there front row when it all goes down, or if you don't have a Quest, watch it on Facebook."
Indeed, as well as streaming the show on their own Facebook and Instagram pages, Foo Fighters' Super Bowl special will also be available to watch after the game (this Sunday at 8pm PST) on the Horizon Venues app.
After that, Foos' upcoming horror-comedy Studio 666 will hit UK cinemas on February 25 – watch the trailer now:
