Josh Freese has been “let go” from Foo Fighters: “No reason was given”
Foo Fighters’ touring drummer over the past two years, Josh Freese, was told earlier this week that the band will be going “in a different direction”.
After revealing their first show of the year last week, Foo Fighters have just announced additional tour dates in Indonesia and Japan…
Fresh from announcing their first show of the year, as well as the surprise news on Friday that they “let go” of touring drummer Josh Freese, the Foo Fighters have announced a trio of new tour dates.
Before their already-confirmed appearance in Singapore on October 4, the band – and their new mystery sticksperson – will play Carnaval Ancol in Jakarta, Indonesia on October 2. Then, after the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore, they’ll hit the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo and Glion Arena Kobe in Osaka on October 7 and 10, respectively.
In other news, following his dismissal from the band, Josh has taken to Instagram to share his light-hearted top 10 reasons he’s not longer their drummer. They range from whistling My Hero “for a week solid on tour”, demanding they start “every rehearsal with a 20-minute cowbell sound bath”, and the fact he “didn’t show up to studio because Mercury was in retrograde”.
