Elton John has announced details of his 32nd (!) studio album, The Lockdown Sessions.
As well as this year's cover of Nothing Else Matters with Miley Cyrus, WATT, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo and Chad Smith, Elton's new record will feature a collaboration with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, plus plenty of other huge names in the music world including Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Rina Sawayama, Stevie Nicks and more.
He says: "The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album. But, as the pandemic went on, one‐off projects kept cropping up. Some of the recording sessions had to be done remotely, via Zoom, which I’d obviously never done before. Some of the sessions were recorded under very stringent safety regulations: working with another artist, but separated by glass screens.
