“Illumination is imminent”: Download post cryptic teaser video
Download Festival are continuing to hype their forthcoming 2026 announcement – but does their latest teaser contain any concrete clues?!

The highly-anticipated Download 2026 line-up announcement is less than two weeks away now, and the festival are continuing to ramp up excitement.
They’ve just shared a new 15-second teaser video to their social media channels, featuring a hooded, cloaked figure carrying a torch through a cave, soundtracked by spooky noises and whispering. Then, what appears to be a ring slowly starts sinking into lava, and the numbers 03.11 come up – of course referring to the official announcement date of November 3.
But what about the rest of it? Fans are speculating in their hundreds about which bands the video might be nodding to – for example, the likes of twenty one pilots and Parkway Drive have used this kind of imagery in their music videos and live shows, while the ring seems to have the word ‘forged’ written into it, which could be a nod to Ghost frontman Tobias Forge (although he obviously doesn’t officially go by his real name in the band). Other guesses include the likes of Slipknot, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer and Limp Bizkit…
As for “Illumination is imminent”? Yeah, we’re stumped. Thoughts, people?!
Download Festival takes place from June 10 – 14, 2026.
