Dave Grohl's 1992 Solo Album Has Surfaced On eBay

Many people might not remember that in 1992, long before Foo Fighters became chart-topping superstars, Dave Grohl put together a cassette of solo material, titled Pocketwatch and later released as Late! But one eBay seller hasn't forgotten, and is selling a rare cassette copy of the album for a scant $430.

The description on the cassette's eBay page is as follows:

"Rare cassette (purchased in 1994 via mail-order) of songs that Dave Grohl demoed, some of which would be re-recorded for either Nirvana or the Foo Fighters.

While the Pocketwatch tape may have some lost tracks on it that Dave may not play live today, one would be hard-pressed to find a man more revered in rock than Mr. Grohl. The dude invites blind children onstage to play his guitar and cooks BBQ for California firefighters.

So while you're more than free to purchase this rare piece of Dave's music, you might do Dave a greater service by giving your money to charity. Then again, maybe Dave will buy the tape and do that for us, because that's just the kind of awesome dude he is.

Grohl has also gone on to say that though Foo Fighters have been around forever, they simply "can't" break up.

“The first 20 years of our band, I thought, ‘Let’s make another record and call it a day. Get one more in there,’” he said.

Now, though, the Foos are here for good. But why can’t they break up? “Imagine grandparents getting a divorce. I’m sure it happens, but you’d be like, ‘Why?’” he joked.
