Casey’s Tom Weaver needs open-heart surgery; band cancel all live shows from July onwards
Casey frontman Tom Weaver has shared the news that he’s awaiting open-heart surgery, with the band therefore cancelling all live dates from July 1.
Listen to Casey’s new single Puncture Wounds To Heaven, which is the ‘first glimpse’ of their third album.
With a U.S. tour coming up very shortly, Casey have unveiled a new song in time for fans to sing along to.
The Welsh post-hardcore crew’s latest effort is entitled Puncture Wounds To Heaven, and it’s teased as the ‘first glimpse’ from their third album.
Speaking about its meaning, vocalist Tom Weaver says that Puncture Wounds… “centres around the themes of apathy and the guilt that can arise as a result. The ‘coming up for air’ sensation as you briefly snap out of a depressive episode, and survey how life has progressed around you.
“This is a core theme that carries throughout the new record, and musically the dichotomy between the smooth verses and the chaotic middle 8 really demonstrated that in a visceral way for us.”
Tom adds that their new record “vocally and musically the most ambitious we’ve ever been, but still feels quintessentially Casey”.
