Here’s how to watch the Ozzy funeral procession livestream today
Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral procession is being livestreamed from Birmingham’s Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge in a few hours’ time.
The metal forefathers join George Clinton and Julio Iglesias in being recognized for a lifetime of service.
When the 2019 GRAMMY nominees in rock and metal were announced earlier this month, they were met with both cheers from fans and shrugs from haters. But now, the Recording Academy has announced that they'll be honoring a band at whom only complete posers would dare to turn up their noses.
The Academy announced today that Black Sabbath would be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award for their legacy of excellence. Among the other recipients are Julio Iglesias, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Sam & Dave, and Donny Hathaway. It's not exactly a bridge in Birmingham, but it'll do.
As the GRAMMYs' website puts it, "From their power riffs to their dark, gothic imagery, Black Sabbath arguably invented the heavy-metal signposts and influenced every hard-rock band that followed." A subdued description, but it checks out.
Whether Sabbath will be in attendance for this award, and whether or not original drummer Bill Ward will be present, has not yet been confirmed.
