“Writing a song about hope and humanity felt right…” As It Is have unveiled a new single, Marilyn, taken from their July self-titled album.
As It Is have released a brand-new single and accompanying music video, Marilyn.
Taken from this summer’s forthcoming self-titled album – which is due out on July 17 via FLG – vocalist Patty Walters explains of the meaning behind the track: “It’s never felt easier be a pessimist and nihilist, so writing a song about hope and humanity felt right.
“It’s about a near-stranger and their goodness making a big difference early on in your life, but how hindsight can make that difference even clearer. But it’s also about how people are never really gone – not while their words, actions and values live on the people their lives have touched. Good people are everywhere, all around us, all the time. This song is about them, and it’s for everyone whose lives are better for knowing them.”
