A Magician Will Open Palaye Royale's Los Angeles Set Tomorrow

Who would be your ideal support act? A band you love and have seen many times before? Someone you’ve never heard of but who blows you away? Or maybe you don’t care about the opening bands and just show up for the headline act -- something we don’t recommend, because you’re probably missing out by doing do. Whatever your stance, here’s something that’s a little out of the ordinary -- Palaye Royale have announced via Twitter that the opener for their Los Angeles show tonight is a magician.

Sounds strange, perhaps, but this isn't just any magician, but a bona fide member of the Magic Circle who performs regularly at the Magic Castle, LA’s exclusive clubhouse for the Academy of Magical Arts.

The band posted the following to their Twitter:

The Toronto band -- who are now based in Las Vegas -- released their second full-length, Boom Boom Room (Side B), last year. It was the follow-up to their 2016 debut, Boom Boom Room (Side A). Earlier this year, the band’s guitarist, Sebastian Danzig was arrested after he allegedly threw coffee at someone who -- again, allegedly -- tried to run over Sebastian while he was walking his dog Mishka in Worcester, MA. He was charged with possession of a deadly weapon -- because apparently coffee is a deadly weapon -- but was released after spending the night in jail.

After the incident ,the band made some pretty cool t-shirts to commemorate the incident (and also to help recoup the lawyer fees). Very clever, guys. Very clever. Anyway, we digress. Tomorrow night there’ll be a magician opening their show in LA. And that’s really cool.

Beyond that show in LA, the band will appear at the following European festivals in June:

15 - Seaclose Park, UK
16 - Download Festival, UK
