Sonic Temple is going bigger than ever for 2025 with Metallica, Korn, Linkin Park, Bad Omens, Poppy, Motionless In White and more across four days...
Kerrang! has teamed up with Metallica and House Of Vans for a special exhibition charting the band’s career
Kerrang! has a long and storied history with Metallica. We’ve championed them since they were a garage band in Los Angeles, and we’re still here, screaming along to Spit Out The Bone on their gargantuan WorldWired stadium tour.
To celebrate this relationships, and to provide their countless fans with genuine insight into the band they love, we’re joining forces with House Of Vans to put up a unique exhibition that will run for over a month from June 18 at their London venue in Waterloo.
Dubbed Hardwired… And Early Dayz, the exhibition will be split into two sections. Hardwired will focus on the band’s latest album, including a selection of Kerrang! covers, live imagery, memorabilia and never-before-seen photos from award-winning photographer Tom Barnes.
The Early Dayz section will be just that, a trip down memory lane from those first demos to …And Justice For All, all told through the pages of Kerrang! magazine. There’ll be iconic covers, bespoke artwork, their first features (before Cliff and Kirk had even joined!) and pieces of K! ephemera from those early days.
There's also a section devoted to Metallica's incredible gig at the House Of Vans in 2016, featuring memorabilia and live footage from the show.
“Kerrang!'s relationship with Metallica pre-dates even the band, when a young Lars Ulrich would read about his favourite bands in our pages," says Kerrang! Editor Sam Coare. "We've been the Bay Area legends' staunchest supporter since their early demos, and we’re now delighted to be able to commemorate that association with our friends at House Of Vans."
You’ll also be able to buy exclusive Metallica merchandise not available at the stadium shows from an exclusive pop-up shop within the House Of Vans open on June 19 and 20. Plus, you’ll be able to get your hands on their own Enter Night beer. Not bad, right?
The House Of Vans is located at the Arches by Waterloo station, so if you’re travelling to Twickenham to see their stadium show on June 20, it’s the perfect starting point.
Hardwired… And Early Dayz runs for a month at the House Of Vans from June 18 and is free to the public. We’ll see you there!
