Zao will be on the road in August with Hollow Earth and Wolf King.

Zao To Tour The Midwest This Summer
WORDS:

Virginian Christian metalcore legends Zao are back on the road. The group is going to be taking on a short tour throughout the midwest in the late summer, and they’re bringing along Michigan-based sludgy hardcore quartet Hollow Earth, as well as Californian blackened hardcore maniacs Wolf King. This is a stacked bill full of loud, heavy breakdowns with a nice wall of atmosphere to pace those moments, so get ready to go nuts.

Tour dates are listed below:

August 2019:

02 - Columbus, OH - Big Room Bar
03 - Lexington, KY - Cosmic Charlie’s
04 - St. Louis, MO - Fubar
05 - Kansas City, MO - The Riot Room
06 - Des Moines, IA - Vaudeville Mews
07 - St. Paul, MN - Amsterdam Bar
08 - Milwaukee, WI - Club Garibaldi
10 - Morgantown, WV - 123 Pleasant Street

Tickets for all dates are on sale right now, so make sure you grab some. As of now, none of the bands have any other planned dates, but keep on the lookout for more.

Zao just put out their new EP, Decoding Transmissions From The Möbius Strip, via Observed/Observer Recordings. When talking with Kerrang! about the creation of the EP, guitarist Jeff Gretz said, “A lot of bands will say their next album is the ‘heaviest’ or whatever. I am not going to claim that. I will say it has the most space and gets a little more cinematic in scope. There are also a LOT of calm moments. But it’s going to be long.”

Hollow Earth have been touring in support of their 2016 record, Dead Earth, which came out via Good Fight Entertainment. No news on any new music coming out as of right now.

When sitting with Kerrang!, Wolf King vocalist Tim Wilson spoke about how the band came up with their sound, saying, “I think [our groovier approach] came from over the years discovering new music, and then taking those elements that we really loved and applying it in our own way. Coming up with sick grooves isn’t easy, but I think we do a good job.”
